Digital technology is fast becoming part of our daily lives, whether that’s using an app to buy our bus tickets or online banking to make a payment, digital is making it easier and quicker to get things done. However, this isn’t the case for everyone. There are members of the community who are unable to access the technology, don’t have the skills or lack the confidence to make use of this new technology.

You may already have come across the Lle geo-portal, an open data platform co-developed by the Geography & Technology branch at Welsh Government and Natural Resources Wales. The site aims to make spatial data more openly available to the public, to satisfy requests for data and services that we would otherwise have satisfied using manual request processes.

Millions of people use our corporate site every year and we know that some parts of the site aren’t as easy to use as others. This is partly due to the sheer volume and breadth of information that we publish as a government but we know we can improve.
