Darllenwch y dudalen hon yn Gymraeg
Following the Open Data Workshop in November, we are working with Data Cymru to deliver two more workshops in North and South West Wales. These workshops will focus on how we can increase the amount of open data being published and used through developing guidance and showcasing some useful tools. The workshops are aimed at anyone who is (or attempting to) publish and/or use open data in Wales. So if you work in the public sector, private sector, academia or wherever and have an interest in open data then we’d really like you to attend.
The workshops will be held during the second week of March and will cover the following:
Open Data Guidance – Which datasets should we all publish?
As mentioned at the previous workshop, Welsh Government is committed to working collaboratively with others to develop guidance on publishing open data for the public sector in Wales. One part of the guidance will be a common set of datasets that public sector bodies in Wales will aim to publish openly.
There will be an interactive session (yes post-it notes will be involved) aimed at identifying and discussing potential datasets for inclusion in the guidance.
Open Data ‘Hub’
Data Cymru are developing an online publishing platform to help local authorities and the wider public sector publish their open data (please see their recent blog for more information). The workshops will provide an opportunity to get a first view of the ‘hub’ and find out more about what it has to offer.
Open Data Catalogue
We will also be demonstrating the prototype of an Open Data Catalogue that we have been developing in Welsh Government. We are hoping to gather views on whether people think it could help them find open data more easily and how the catalogue can be improved.
