If you’ve just finished school or university and are considering what career path you want to follow or you’re looking for a change in career and have an interest in digital then why not apply for the Welsh Government’s Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Apprenticeship.
Why should I consider an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are a great way of developing skills on the job. For you as an apprentice, you get the training you need and an opportunity to develop your career while getting paid. For us, it means that we can train people in the roles we need.
What’s different about the DDaT Apprenticeship?
The DDaT Apprenticeship focuses on developing digital, data and technology skills. During the 18 month apprenticeship, our apprentices move around different teams and carry out different roles within Welsh Government.
Moving around allows the apprentices to experience a variety of roles within the DDaT profession and gives them a chance to work out where their skills lie and which career path they’d like to follow.
I don’t have any IT experience or qualifications – can I still apply?
You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience of working with digital, data and technology, only an interest and enthusiasm about the subject. But don’t just take my word for it, we’ll be featuring some blogs from our current group of apprentices over the coming weeks to demonstrate the variety of people we currently have on the scheme and their experiences so far.
